What is a soap nut?
Soap nuts are the dried fruit of the Sapindus mukorossi tree. The shells contain saponin, which when introduced to water creates a bubbly lather that can be used to cleanse. Naturally fragrance free, soap nuts are also ideal for those with allergies or who are sensitive to synthetic cleansers or detergents.
TO USE: Place five (5) soap nuts into the included bag, then add the bag to your washing machine with laundry. Run laundry cycle as usual. Remove bag and hang to dry when not in use. Each set of five will was up to twelve loads of laundry. Used soap nuts can be added to your compost pile and are biodegradable.
*Soap nuts work best in warm or hot water. If washing cold, activate soap nuts by placing in cup of hot water for two minutes before using.
Tip: Adding half to a full cup of white vinegar in the washer’s liquid softener dispenser will leave clothes softened without adding an aroma!
